Built 500 years ago by Sikander Lodhi stands the very famous attraction of Ludhiana, the Lodhi Fort. Constructed at Phillaur near Ludhiana during the reign of Sher Shah Suri, Phillaur Fort is one of the most visited attractions near Ludhiana. Originally, it was Sarai (inn) but during the ruling period of Shah Jahan, this Sarai was converted into a military fort and also a post office. Later, the fort was managed by the British as a section of the military cantonment. Today, Phillaur Fort houses a police training academy and also a fingerprint bureau.
Located on the very popular GT Road, this museum is named after Maharaja Ranjit Singh whose statue can be seen on the entrance sitting on a throne. Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum has 12 galleries with is categorized into various sections like ancient history and post-independence.
Also located on GT road, the Tiger zoo is a massive zoo spread across an area of 25 acres. Established in 1993, this zoo is a major tourist attraction in Ludhiana and you must visit here. Many safaris are conducted inside this zoo in safety vans and you get the opportunity to see the tigers roaming around in the open from inside the vans. Go and explore the safaris in the popular Tiger Zoo and you can visit on all days except Monday (closed).
