Undoubtedly, Mehrangarh Fort is among the largest forts in our country. This magnificent fort lies splendidly 400 feet above the ground and has been around for many centuries before it was completed. Hence, it accumulates several architectural styles representing various periods. To your surprise, Hollywood movie Dark Knight was also shot in this fort. Fortunately, the fort is open for tourists on all days between 9 am to 5 pm and charges a fee of Rs. 60 for Indians and Rs. 400 for foreigners. Extra amount will be charged for a trip to the museum and photography/ videography.

This 347-roomed gigantic palace is referred to as one of the largest private residences in the world. It also has a distinct style of Indian and European architectural work that has been praised by tourists over many years. Amazingly, the royal family still resides in one part of the palace, while the other two parts are converted into Taj Palace Hotel and a museum. This museum is open for the public to admire and see while the Taj Palace Hotel can only be accessed by guests. You can pay a visit at Umaid Bhawan Palace between 10 am to 4.30 pm and the entry fee is Rs. 30 for Indians, Rs. 10 for children (5-11 years) and Rs. 100 for foreigners.

This beautiful monument of Jodhpur was built to commemorate Maharaja Jaswant Singh II in 1899 and is located close to Mehrangarh Fort. The intricate carving of this place offers enchanting tranquility that one cannot miss. The main attraction of this place is the astonishing statues of Rathore rulers. Also, Jaswant Thada has a marvelous multilevel garden, beautiful gazebos, and a pond. It is a must-visit attraction for those who love history, architecture, and photography.

Mandore Gardens attracts a number of tourists on a day-to-day basis. It was the original capital of Marwar before Jodhpur was established. It houses a government museum called ‘Hall of Heroes’ and a temple, surprisingly, dedicated to 33 crore Gods. If you an architecture lover then, this is the place for you.

Located near the famous market of Sadar, Clock Tower is a notable landmark in the Old City, Jodhpur. This tower offers a great view of the marvelous Mehrangarh Fort. Here you can find over 7,000 shops to choose from and buy items like handicrafts, saris, jutis, spices, souvenirs and much more to have a great shopping experience.
