The easiest way to reach Gangtok is via flight. Bagdogra International Airport is the main international airport serving the city of Gangtok and the entire state. Bagdogra is connected with the rest of the country via regular domestic and international aeroplanes. All Eastern states have regular flights that connect Bagdogra to other parts of the country. Upon your arrival, you can hire a private cab, regular taxi, shared jeep or a public bus for reaching your destination. Bagdogra is around 2 hours away from Gangtok. So you can reach there easily.

The state transport buses are available. The Route is available between Gangtok and Siliguri. There are a number of private buses available between Siliguri and Bagdogra. If you are a self drive enthusiast, then you can take your car or your bike and can reach Gangtok via roads. National highway 34 connects Gangtok and Kolkata. Bikers visit Gangtok on regular intervals. Several biker agencies send their troops to Sikkim. If you have a compatible bike and love riding, you can visit Gangtok with some other bikers. If you are comfortable at driving you car; you can visit this place via car as well. Except Monsoons, the roads are pretty clear and you can easily visit Gangtok via this way as well.
