Air India

Air India is the government-owned airline and flag carrier of India. Established in the year 1932 by Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata, Air India commenced its services in 1946. Currently, this airline is serving more than 94 domestic and international destinations. To extend its reach worldwide, Air India owns two subsidiaries, Alliance Air and Air India Express.

Airasia India

AirAsia India is a low-cost carrier of India and is a subsidiary of Tata Group. Initially, the project was a joint venture of Tata Sons and AirAsia Berhad. Currently, it owns a fleet of 22 aircraft and serves major domestic destinations of India. Kempegowda International Airportin Bengaluru is the primary hub of this airline.

IndiGo

Founded in the year 2005 by two entrepreneurs Rahul Bhati and Rakesh Gangwal, IndiGo is India’s largest low-cost airline. IndiGo owns a fleet of 238 aircraft and serve at least 51 domestic and 15 international destinations. The hub of IndiGo is Indira Gandhi International Airport, and its secondary base are at Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur.

SpiceJet

Spicejet is one of India’s most popular low-cost airline. It is India’s second-largest carrier in terms of passengers carried and market share. Currently, it owns a fleet of 108 aircraft, and it operates aircraft to 47 domestic and 7 international destinations. The primary hub of Spicejet is in Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad.

Alliance Air

Alliance Air is a subsidiary of Air India and is a regional airline. The company was founded in April 1996 with an intent to providing low-cost aircraft services among smaller cities of India. In 2007, it was renamed as Air India Regional and became complete regional arm of Air India, but later in March 2017, it again renamed as Alliance Air.

GoAir

GoAir is a low-cost carrier of India headquartered in Mumbai. The airline was founded in the year 2005 by Indian businessman Jeh Wadia. Currently, the airline operates in 27 domestic location and 4 international destinations. The airline has been awarded with the “Best Performing Airline” and “Best Domestic Airline For Excellence in Quality and Efficient Services.”

Air India Express

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India, Air India Express is a low-cost carrier of India. The airline was inaugurated by Air India after the increasing popularity of low-cost airlines in India. The airline owns a fleet of 25 aircraft, and it serves around 33 destinations in India and Southeast Asia.

Vistara Airlines

Vistara Airlines, formerly known as Tata SIA Airlines Ltd., is an Indian airline headquartered in Gurgaon. Vistara was founded in the year 2013 as a result of joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines. The airline is the sixth largest airline of India in terms of passengers carried and market share. The hub of Vistara is Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.

Tigerair Taiwan Co. Ltd

Tigerair Taiwan Co. Ltd. is a low-cost Chinese airline based at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Tigerair was a joint venture between China Airlines and Budget Aviation Holdings. Currently, Tigerair is operating in China, Japan, Macau, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand, and it owns a fleet of 11 aircraft.

Trujet

Trujet is an Indian regional airline having primary hub at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad. Trujet was founded in March 2013 as a low-cost carrier for appealing middle-class travelers and pilgrims especially. It owns a fleet of 5 planes and serves southwestern states of India, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Goa, and Andhra Pradesh.

Blue Dart Aviation Limited

Blue Dart Aviation is a cargo airline headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It owns a fleet of 6 aircraft and serves seven metropolitan cities of India, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, and Hyderabad. German courier company, Deutsche Post, is the parent company of Blue Dart Aviation.

Quikjet Cargo Airlines

Quikjet Cargo Airlines Pvt. Ltd. or Quikjet Airlines is a cargo airline headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka. The airline commenced its operations on February 17, 2016. Quickjet schedules its domestic services using Boeing 737 aircraft. Currently, Quikjet Cargo is operating in Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Telangana only.
